Interisland Terminal will unveil plans for a unique public gathering space in Kaka\u2018ako being designed by Tokyo-based architectural firm Atelier Bow-Wow, creators of innovative spaces in Mumbai, Montreal, Berlin and New York.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The vision for the space, located in a warehouse on Cooke Street, will be executed through local partnerships and will be the first multi-purpose, free public space in the Kaka\u2018ako area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Atelier Bow-Wow founders Yoshiharu Tsukamoto and Momoyo Kaijima are known for creating odd-shaped buildings with innovative solutions for window, drains and air-conidtioning. They coined the term \u201cPet Architecture\u201d to describe uses for buildings that have been squeezed into left over urban spaces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
