Rowe\u2019s sculptural installations draw inspiration from both cinema and architecture. Through the combination of common construction materials such as wood, sheet rock and metal, Rowe creates complex abstract structures that engage with the space around them, \u201coften suggesting a three dimensional series of frames that mimic a filmic sequence.\u201d Each structure is accented with decorative furnishings, wall paper, color choice, etc. that might \u201cmake a space an expression of someone\u2019s personality,\u201d says Rowe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Based in New York, Rowe was included in the 2008 Whitney Biennial and has recently show at PS1, the Indianapolis Museum of Art\u2019s Efroymson Family Entrance Pavilion series, and the University of Michigan Museum of Art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
During her exhibition with Interisland Terminal in Honolulu, Rowe will participage in the University of Hawaii\u2019s Intersections program:<\/p>\n\n\n\n
